At Louisiana Charter Schools in Action [LCSA], in collaboration with the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools [LAPCS], we're dedicated to ensuring voters are well-informed on every aspect of the election process. This page dives into the specifics of Louisiana's runoff elections, a unique system set in place to ensure candidates have majority voter support.
When no contender secures over 50% of the votes in a primary, a runoff is triggered between the top two candidates. This process ensures that those representing schools and families across Louisiana truly echo the majority's voice. As with our main platform, our aim here is to educate. While our focus is on providing insights into the perspectives of candidates on educational matters, we also believe in the importance of understanding the electoral mechanisms in place.
As always, while we strive to provide comprehensive information, we encourage you to use the resources available and conduct your own research. Every vote and every voice, including yours, plays a pivotal role in shaping Louisiana's educational future.
On election day, the polls are open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Early voting (excluding Sunday, Nov. 5 and Friday Nov. 10 for Veterans Day) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
